Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss the ECOMMBX Cup prep tournament in Cyprus this weekend, where Greece is set to face Serbia and Israel ahead of EuroBasket 2025. This absence means a highly anticipated matchup between Antetokounmpo and fellow NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of Serbia will be postponed until the main EuroBasket event if the teams meet. The Greek federation officially announced Giannis will remain in Athens to follow a personal training program, alongside injured teammates, but Greek national team coach Vassilis Spanoulis expressed no concerns about his participation in EuroBasket 2025. Antetokounmpo recently completed another stellar NBA season, earning his ninth consecutive All-Star selection and seventh All-NBA first team honor, while the Milwaukee Bucks finished 48-34 before a first-round playoff exit. His brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo has returned to game action and is expected to participate in the upcoming tournament.
