Ole Miss Senior Tyler Banks Wins 2025 Chucky Mullins Award

Senior linebacker Tyler Banks of Ole Miss has been named the 2025 recipient of the prestigious Chucky Mullins Courage Award, becoming the 35th player to receive the honor that celebrates courage, leadership, perseverance, and determination. The award commemorates Chucky Mullins, who was paralyzed during a 1989 game and later passed away, and is presented annually to an Ole Miss upperclassman defensive player. Banks, a three-year letterwinner from Virginia, has appeared in all 39 games since joining Ole Miss in 2022 and has primarily contributed on special teams while competing for more defensive snaps. He accepted the No. 38 jersey, worn by Mullins and previous award winners, with no hesitation and expressed his commitment to representing the legacy both on and off the field. Banks credits his loyalty to Ole Miss to the feeling of home instilled since his commitment and upholds values of dedication and leadership amid a football culture often focused on transfers. Additionally, he serves on the SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, reflecting his leadership beyond the field.
