Texas, Texas A&M Add Key Baseball Transfers

Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M have both strengthened their baseball programs through the transfer portal. Texas added veteran left-handed reliever Cal Higgins from Western Kentucky, who posted a 1.87 ERA, 52 strikeouts, and six saves in 43.1 innings, earning All-Conference USA Second Team honors and contributing to an NCAA Tournament berth. The Longhorns, now with six offseason portal additions, continue to bolster their pitching staff under coach Max Weiner. Meanwhile, Texas A&M acquired left-handed pitcher Carson Bailey from Baylor, who recorded a 4.89 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 53.1 innings as a freshman. Bailey is expected to reinforce the Aggies' bullpen, especially if Ryan Prager leaves for the MLB Draft.
