Gunfire Injures One During Illegal Street Takeover Pineville North Carolina

An illegal street takeover in the parking lot of Park 51 Shops on Park Road in Pineville, North Carolina, early Sunday morning resulted in a shooting that left one person injured. Police responded to multiple 911 calls around 4 a.m. reporting reckless driving, large crowds, traffic obstruction, and gunfire. During a physical altercation among participants, a suspect pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots, striking a bystander in the leg and hitting a vehicle. The injured individual was transported to Atrium Health hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and remains in stable condition. One person was arrested in connection with the fight, but the shooter has not been identified and remains at large.
