Leeds United Sign Slovenia Defender Jaka Bijol From Udinese

Leeds United have strengthened their squad for the upcoming Premier League season by signing Slovenian defender Jaka Bijol from Udinese for a reported fee of £15 million. The 26-year-old signed a five-year contract and is Leeds’ second summer acquisition following striker Lukas Nmecha. Bijol brings considerable experience, having played over 250 senior games across Europe, including Champions League and Europa League matches, and represented Slovenia at Euro 2024. He has also captained Udinese and featured prominently in their last season, making 37 appearances with two goals and two assists. Leeds secured promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship title and are preparing for a challenging campaign, with further transfer targets including a left-back and goalkeeper.
