Bandai Namco, A24 Confirm Live-Action Elden Ring Film

Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24 have announced the production of a live-action film adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game Elden Ring, directed and written by Alex Garland, known for films like Ex Machina and Annihilation. George R.R. Martin, who contributed to the game's mythological story and is famous for his work on A Song of Ice and Fire, will be involved in the film's production. Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware and released in 2022, has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and is set in the dark fantasy universe of the Lands Between, where players seek to restore the Elden Ring to become the Elden Lord. While no cast or release date has been confirmed, the game’s expanding universe includes the 2024 DLC Shadow of the Erdtree and the upcoming spin-off Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for May 2025.
