Facade Collapse Injures 3 Including 2 Children in Queens

A facade collapse occurred on Wednesday afternoon at a furniture store on Jericho Turnpike in Queens, injuring three people, including two young girls. Approximately 60 feet of the building's facade fell onto the sidewalk and struck at least two parked vehicles, one of which contained the injured children. The victims—a 25-year-old man and two girls aged 11 and 13—suffered back and leg injuries and were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. Emergency responders and bystanders quickly assisted at the scene, with a search involving a dog to detect any additional victims yielding no further injuries. The New York City Department of Buildings is investigating the cause of the collapse, and the westbound side of Jericho Turnpike remains closed during the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
