U.S. News & World Report published its 2025-2026 Best Hospitals rankings, naming 504 'Best Regional Hospitals' and highlighting institutions nationwide for excellence in specialties and procedures. Johns Hopkins Hospital retained its top spot in rheumatology for the eighth year, while Mayo Clinic – Rochester, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Massachusetts General Hospital were noted for high performance in various specialties including cancer, diabetes, psychiatry, and obstetrics and gynecology. Regional standouts include Emory University Hospital, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Rush University Medical Center, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Hospitals were evaluated on patient outcomes, clinical excellence, and expert opinion across 15 specialties. The rankings are designed to help patients make informed healthcare decisions and recognize hospitals demonstrating outstanding dedication to patient care. The methodology for evaluating 'Best Regional Hospitals' now includes expert opinion, reflecting a change from previous years.
