Ohio Man Arrested for Fatal Tire Accident

Ricky Raider, a 37-year-old Ohio man, has been arrested nearly a year after a tire from his truck caused a fatal accident on Interstate 75, killing 18-year-old Lauren Collins. Collins, a University of Kentucky student, was driving southbound when the tire rolled across a concrete barrier and smashed through her windshield. Raider initially reported the lost tire to police but claimed it did not cause any injury. However, a recorded jailhouse phone call revealed he knew the tire had struck Collins' vehicle and likely caused injury or death. Raider has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid. He is set to appear in court on July 24.
