Kyle Singler Arrested; Alleged Threats to Girlfriend, Child

Former Duke and NBA forward Kyle Singler, 37, was arrested Tuesday in Whitefield, Oklahoma and charged with one misdemeanor count of assault and battery in the presence of a child after a 911 call reported him chasing a woman. Authorities say the woman told deputies Singler grabbed her by the head and shoved her to the ground; deputies observed finger outlines on her face and marks on her arms, and the couple’s young child was reportedly present. Deputies said Singler did not cooperate, appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, was booked into the Haskell County Jail and later released on $6,000 bond. Local outlets reported additional allegations that Singler threatened to rape his girlfriend and harm her toddler. The arrest follows months of cryptic social-media videos in which he said he feared for his life; his former agent has said he no longer represents Singler and court records do not indicate whether he has retained an attorney.
