Avatar: Fire and Ash Trailer and Game Tie‑In
A full trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, released December 19, introduces the Mangkwan (Ash People) and their vengeful leader Varang, whose forest was destroyed by a volcanic eruption and who accuses Eywa of abandoning them, driving her to ally with Colonel Quaritch and human RDA forces. The trailer also teases the Sully family’s grief over Neteyam, new clans, creatures, large-scale battles, and a pivotal moment showing Spider able to breathe Pandora’s air unaided, raising the stakes for human colonisation. The film reunites returning cast members including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet alongside newcomers such as Oona Chaplin, David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh, and continues Cameron’s multi-film rollout with Avatar 4 and 5 scheduled for 2029 and 2031. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are coordinating tie‑ins: Frontiers of Pandora will get a From the Ashes expansion launching the same day that mirrors the movie’s themes, features the Ash Clan and an RDA alliance, and stars a new protagonist, So’lek. From the Ashes will be available on current consoles and PC as a $19.99 paid expansion and in a bundled edition; Ubisoft also plans continued post‑launch support for Frontiers of Pandora, including a free update adding New Game+ and a third‑person mode.
