Nationwide Listeria Peach Recall Includes Salsas
Moonlight Companies has voluntarily recalled California-grown yellow and white peaches sold nationwide between Sept. 16 and Oct. 29, 2025, after Listeria monocytogenes was detected in its packing facility. The recall covers individual peaches with PLU stickers (including PLU 4401 or 4044) and multi-packs sold at major retailers — including Walmart, Kroger, Target, Costco, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Sprouts and Food Lion — though packages or PLU stickers labeled “Washington” or “Organic” are excluded. Affected lot codes, UPC/PLU details and product images are posted on the FDA website, and some retailers (including Kroger) have pulled related peach salsas. No illnesses have been reported so far, but Listeria can cause serious or fatal infections in pregnant people, newborns, older adults and immunocompromised individuals and can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth. Consumers should not eat recalled peaches or salsas, should discard or return them for a refund, check FDA and retailer recall notices for lot/UPC photos, or call Moonlight Companies at 855-215-5017 with questions; state health departments are working with stores to remove affected product.
