Astroscale Expands Debris Removal Partnership in Asia-Pacific

Japan's Astroscale has partnered with Bengaluru-based space companies Digantara and Bellatrix Aerospace to collaborate on orbital services in the Asia-Pacific region. The agreement aims to drive active debris removal, satellite servicing, and sustainable in-orbit mobility, addressing the increasing risks associated with space debris. Astroscale, known for its cutting-edge in-orbit servicing solutions, is expanding its market reach beyond Japan to include India, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Australia. The collaboration looks to leverage India's liberalized space policy, which now encourages private sector participation and has established a significant fund to support space startups. Bellatrix Aerospace, recognized for its propulsion systems, has completed multiple space missions, while Digantara provides space situational awareness services. This partnership aligns with India's strategic goal to foster commercial space activities and strengthen ties with global space agencies.
