Two Arrested After Waterbury Armed Carjacking Chase
A man and a woman were arrested after an armed carjacking in Waterbury, Connecticut, which began around 3:30 p.m. near Pine and Bishop streets on Sunday. The suspects approached a man in his vehicle, displayed a firearm, and stole the car, but the victim was not injured. Police found the stolen vehicle about two hours later near South Main Street and Platts Mill Road. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the suspects fled, prompting a pursuit onto Route 8 southbound into Naugatuck. The chase ended when the driver crashed into a wall near Great Hill Road, and both suspects were taken into custody without injury. The investigation is ongoing, with more information expected from authorities.
