Merryspring Hosts Online Talk on Maine’s Spring Birds

Merryspring Nature Center is hosting an online presentation on March 4 at 12 p.m. titled 'Maine’s Spring Birds,' led by Advocacy and Outreach Manager Nick Lund. This talk aims to educate birders about spring migration, preparing them to identify various bird species arriving in Maine as temperatures warm. In addition, the Refuge Friends will offer a birding event focused on woodcocks on March 1 at Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge, where participants can learn about the birds' courtship rituals and enjoy a guided walk. Both events are free and open to the public, encouraging community engagement with local wildlife. Merryspring's session will be available via Zoom, while the woodcock event is family-friendly and welcomes all ages. These gatherings reflect a growing interest in birdwatching and nature appreciation in the community.
