This unexpected turn resulted in 'millions of dollars' lost, with no insurance coverage available, as the shutdown was deemed a civil authority issue. It took an additional five months for the crew to return to filming after having to secure funding again. Gracey noted that securing the initial permits was challenging, but Robbie's connection to the royal family helped facilitate the process. The film, featuring Robbie as a CGI monkey, is set to be released on December 26, 2023.
