Body Found in Italy During Search for Missing Hull Hiker

Matthew Hall, a 33-year-old man from Hull, was reported missing after setting out for a hike in the Italian Alps near Chiavenna on July 9. Despite being described as a very competent solo hiker, he sent a final message indicating he had taken a wrong turn and was resting before disappearing. A large-scale search involving Italian police, mountain rescue teams, helicopters, drones, and about 30 rescue personnel was launched, with his friends and colleagues from Quickline joining the efforts on the ground. On Wednesday evening, a body was found near the Cross of Daloo, the location from which Matthew had sent his last photograph and message, and his family was informed. Matthew's mother and friends praised the extensive support from local authorities and the community during the search. His colleagues and friends, who have traveled from the UK, continue to support the search and the family during this difficult time.
