68-Year-Old Man Arrested in Hatchet Assault

In Anne Arundel County, a 68-year-old man named James Gulley was arrested for allegedly attacking his 31-year-old neighbor, Ryan Mittrick, with a hatchet following an argument on Stoney Point Way, Pasadena. The altercation, which occurred around 10:50 a.m., stemmed from a disagreement the previous night when both were reportedly drinking. Mittrick sustained minor injuries and was able to disarm Gulley, who was later found with an illegal .22-caliber handgun. Both men were taken into custody, with Mittrick facing charges for violating pretrial release conditions from a separate case. Neighbors have reported prior disturbances involving Mittrick, suggesting a history of neighborhood issues. Authorities are asking anyone with additional information to contact the police.
