Juvenile Detained After Michigan City Welfare-Check Deaths
Police in Michigan City, Indiana, are investigating after two adults were found dead inside a home in the 100 block of Schofield Court during an early-morning welfare check around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Authorities say the deaths are suspected to be the result of foul play. A male juvenile was taken into custody; one report says he was involved in a crash and was detained by LaPorte County deputies. No identities, ages or genders of the victims have been released, and police say the incident appears isolated with no known threat to public safety. Investigators from the Michigan City Police Department and the LaPorte County Sheriff's Department are probing the case. Anyone with information or video was asked to contact lead investigator Detective Brock Moore at 219-874-3221 or bmoore@emichigancity.com.
