Thief Steals $115K in Pokémon Cards in Heist
A smash-and-grab theft occurred at 1st Edition Collectibles in New Bedford, Massachusetts, around 2:30 a.m. on July 8, resulting in the loss of $113,000 to $115,000 worth of rare Pokémon cards and collectibles. Surveillance footage showed a masked thief breaking in, targeting high-value items, and escaping within 20 to 30 seconds. Among the stolen goods were valuable cards and booster boxes, including a Neo Revelation Pokémon box worth about $30,000. The owners believe the thief was familiar with the shop's layout and inventory, indicating prior knowledge. All stolen items have serial numbers, and the community is urged to assist in their recovery. The store remains closed while police investigate, and no arrests have been reported.
