Roblox Launches AI Tools, Boosts Creator Earnings 8.5%

Roblox has introduced several new features and partnerships aimed at enhancing creativity, monetization, and user engagement on its platform. The company launched Roblox Moments, a TikTok-like short video feed for sharing and discovering 30-second gameplay clips, currently in beta for users aged 13 and up, with plans to open APIs for developers to create custom content discovery tools. Alongside this, Roblox has increased the Developer Exchange (DevEx) payout rate by 8.5%, enabling creators to earn more from converting Robux into real currency, and highlighted that creators have collectively earned over $1 billion through DevEx. New AI-powered tools include generative AI for creating interactive objects, real-time voice-chat translation, text-to-speech and speech-to-text functionalities, and a voice-directed coding assistant, all designed to empower developers and foster inclusive communication. Strategic licensing deals with Mattel and Kodansha bring popular intellectual properties like Polly Pocket and Matchbox to the platform, expanding creative opportunities. Roblox also emphasized its growing community with over 111 million daily active users and announced investments in AI infrastructure and safety measures to support its expanding global audience and creator economy.
