Typhoon Bebinca Hits Shanghai During Festival

Typhoon Bebinca, the strongest storm to hit Shanghai since 1949, brought the Chinese financial hub to a standstill, suspending flights, trains, and highways during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The typhoon made landfall with winds of up to 144 km/h (89 mph), prompting the China Meteorological Administration to issue a red typhoon warning. Authorities have closed major tourist spots including Shanghai Disney Resort and recalled ships to port. The storm is expected to cause heavy rainfall and gale-force winds across eastern China.
