Drone Strike Targets Sudan Army Chief’s Ceremony

Sudanese Army Chief Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan survived a drone assassination attempt during a military graduation ceremony in Jebeit, eastern Sudan, resulting in the deaths of five individuals. The Sudanese Army accused the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of orchestrating the attack, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing 15-month conflict. Al-Burhan was unharmed, and the army's air defenses intercepted the drones. This incident underscores a troubling increase in RSF's use of drone strikes.
