Police Shoot Man During Dispute in Bronx
A New York City police officer shot a 19-year-old man in the leg on Friday in the Bronx after responding to a 911 call about a dispute involving a gun. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. near White Plains Road and Lafayette Avenue, coinciding with students returning home from school. While the suspect was armed, it remains unclear whether he fired his weapon during the confrontation. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, and although no officers were injured, two were checked out as a precaution. A second individual involved in the encounter fled the scene. The investigation into the circumstances leading to the shooting is ongoing.
