Rep. Joe Wilson Stable After Collapse

Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina, 77, experienced stroke-like symptoms and collapsed at a Ukrainian Independence Day event in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. He was immediately treated by a doctor at the event and hospitalized, where he received a pacemaker. Wilson is now in stable condition, improving, and expected to be discharged in a few days. His son, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, confirmed the medical emergency and expressed gratitude for his father's recovery. Several officials, including Rep. Russell Fry, Rep. Ralph Norman, and Sen. Tim Scott, have wished him a swift recovery. Wilson has represented South Carolina's 2nd Congressional District since 2001.
