Irish authorities arrested a man in his 30s at Rosslare Europort, Wexford, after seizing approximately 202.5 kilograms of cocaine valued at €14.2 million. The cocaine was discovered in a lorry that had disembarked from a ferry arriving from Dunkirk, France, during routine profiling by Revenue officers. The suspect is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, with investigations ongoing. Separately, in Japan, Osaka police arrested a Brazilian couple suspected of smuggling about 1.5 kilograms of cocaine concealed in capsules ingested inside their bodies, detected via medical imaging after arriving through Kansai Airport. In Greece, a 22-year-old foreign national was arrested at Athens International Airport for attempting to smuggle 840 grams of cocaine inside 72 ingested packets, linked to an international trafficking network. These incidents highlight ongoing global efforts to combat sophisticated drug smuggling operations.
