China Expands Superconducting Quantum Computer Production

Terra Quantum has achieved a breakthrough by successfully demonstrating a new type of superconductivity, termed 'Type III', which features superconducting islands separated by non-superconducting regions. This development, published in Physical Review B, could significantly enhance quantum computing applications and the electronics industry. Concurrently, China is ramping up its superconducting quantum computer production, with Origin Quantum's 72-qubit Wukong chip having operated smoothly for nine months. The company is expanding its production line to assemble eight quantum computers simultaneously, up from five, amidst an urgent push for technological self-sufficiency due to U.S. sanctions.
