Epic Games to Relaunch Fortnite in Brazil

Epic Games plans to reintroduce Fortnite to iOS devices in Brazil by July 2025 following a significant antitrust ruling against Apple that mandates the allowance of sideloading and alternative payment methods. This move comes after Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) declared Apple's anti-steering policies illegal, echoing previous European Union directives under the Digital Markets Act. Consequently, Brazilian iPhone and iPad users will access Fortnite through the Epic Games Store, marking the end of a nearly five-year absence of the game on iOS devices in the region. Apple has been given 90 days to comply with these new regulations, although it intends to appeal the ruling. The decision aligns with Epic Games' broader strategy to expand its presence on iOS platforms globally, with similar initiatives underway in Europe, the UK, and Japan.
