Fox Cancels Alert Missing Persons, Cleaning Lady After Multiple Seasons
Fox has officially canceled two of its drama series, Alert: Missing Persons Unit after three seasons and The Cleaning Lady after four seasons, following the conclusion of their 2024-25 seasons. Both shows struggled with ratings, with Alert averaging 2.16 million viewers and The Cleaning Lady 1.68 million in seven-day linear ratings, significantly lower than other Fox dramas like Doc and Murder in a Small Town. Alert experienced notable cast changes, including the death of its female lead Nikki (Dania Ramirez) in the third season, which contributed to internal discussions but ultimately was not enough to save the show. The Cleaning Lady was also a co-production, and its cancellation was influenced by the high costs relative to its viewership. Fox has no current plans to continue either series or move them to other platforms, though there is some openness to future event-style returns for shows like Accused. Meanwhile, Fox is focusing on new projects for the 2025-26 season, including Best Medicine and Memory of a Killer.
