Polestar Unveils 2026 Ultra-Premium 884hp Electric GT

Polestar has unveiled the 2026 Polestar 5, a flagship four-door electric Grand Tourer aimed at the ultra-premium market, competing with models like the Porsche Taycan. The car features a new lightweight, rigid bonded aluminum platform with a 112kWh battery and 800-volt charging technology that supports ultra-rapid DC fast charging up to 350 kW. Offered in two trims, the Dual Motor version delivers 737 horsepower and an estimated range of around 330 miles, while the Performance trim boasts 871 horsepower and around 300 miles of range. Polestar emphasizes the 5’s aerodynamic design inspired by aviation, integrating recycled materials and advanced tech to achieve a drag coefficient of 0.24 and exceptional torsional rigidity comparable to a supercar. The 5 is designed primarily as a four-seater with a spacious and comfortable cabin, reflecting Polestar's commitment to sustainability and performance. This model marks a significant step for Polestar as it expands beyond its previous offerings into the high-end electric GT segment.
