Virtual K-Pop Group HUNTR/X Tops UK, Leads Global Streaming Charts
"Golden," performed by the fictional virtual K-pop group HUNTR/X from the Netflix animated film "KPop Demon Hunters," has achieved historic chart success worldwide. The song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for multiple consecutive weeks and rose to No. 1 on the Billboard Streaming Songs chart, marking the first time an all-woman group, real or fictional, has topped that list. It also topped the UK Singles Chart for the first K-pop song in 13 years, as well as charts in several countries including Australia, South Korea, and New Zealand. "Golden" led the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts multiple times and helped the soundtrack become 2025's highest-charting and most-streamed soundtrack in over three years. The fictional group's success is bolstered by vocal performances from EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, and production by notable K-pop producers Teddy and 24. The film's soundtrack also features other successful tracks by fictional group Saja Boys and real K-pop group TWICE, highlighting K-pop's expanding global influence and fan engagement through social media and potential future adaptations.
