Twin Brothers Jailed for Ashraf Habimana Murder

Twin brothers Athif and Althaf Hussaindeen, both 18, have been sentenced for the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Ashraf Habimana during a fight in Luton on September 29, 2023. Athif was found guilty of murder and sentenced to a minimum of 24 years, while Althaf was convicted of manslaughter and received a seven-year sentence. The violent altercation escalated from a previous confrontation earlier that day, leading to both brothers arriving armed with knives. CCTV footage captured Althaf assaulting Ashraf before Athif stabbed him in the back multiple times. Ashraf's parents expressed their devastation, stating he was 'senselessly robbed of his life' and announced plans to create a foundation to combat knife crime.
