Serbia has significantly increased its arms exports to Israel, shipping over €23 million ($25.5 million) in 2024, including €7.3 million worth of arms in July alone. This surge occurs despite international calls, including a UN resolution urging states to halt military supplies to Israel amid allegations of war crimes in Gaza. Investigations by BIRN and Haaretz revealed that Israeli military aircraft have made at least 15 flights from Serbia to Israel since December 2023, transporting arms and ammunition. Concurrently, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the UN resolution as 'anti-Israel'. The ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza, which have resulted in significant Palestinian casualties, have heightened the demand for such arms. Serbia has yet to publicly comment on its arms shipments, maintaining that the details are 'strictly confidential'.
