Milan Mayor Plans Sale of San Siro to Inter, AC Milan by Summer

Inter Milan and AC Milan are advancing in their long-term goal to acquire the San Siro stadium and surrounding area. Milan's Mayor Beppe Sala announced that the clubs are expected to present a formal feasibility study and economic plan, which could lead to construction of a new stadium starting in 2027, with completion aimed for 2030. The new stadium is projected to have a capacity of approximately 71,500 seats and will require an investment exceeding €1 billion. Mayor Sala expressed optimism about finalizing the sale of the stadium and surrounding land before the summer holidays. The clubs plan to partially demolish the existing San Siro after the new stadium is completed, as local regulations prevent full demolition due to its cultural significance. Despite some delays caused by local authorities, a resolution appears imminent as the clubs edge closer to securing the necessary permissions.
