Kirklees to Install 23 New EV Charging Points

Kirklees Council has approved the installation of over 20 new electric vehicle (EV) charging points at council-run car parks, targeting residents without off-street parking as part of a £2.5 million initiative funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority. The first phase is expected to begin later this year, with further expansion into on-street locations planned for future phases. Officials highlight that this pilot scheme is a crucial step toward making EV ownership more practical and accessible in the region, supporting broader goals to achieve net zero emissions and climate readiness by 2038.
