Global Super League Cricket Tournament Begins in Guyana

The inaugural Global Cricket League (GCL) will take place in Guyana from November 26 to December 7, featuring five T20 teams, including the home side Guyana Amazon Warriors, competing for a prize of $1 million. This tournament, sanctioned by Cricket West Indies and supported by the Guyanese government, will be held at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, marking South America's first stand-alone cricket event. Notable participants include Hampshire, a three-time T20 Blast champion from England, and the South African franchise The Titans. Each team will play four matches in a mini-league format, with the top two advancing to the final. President of Guyana, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, emphasized the event's role in enhancing sports tourism and celebrating cricket as a vital part of the country's heritage.
