The home of renowned Bangladeshi folk singer Rahul Ananda was violently attacked, looted, and set ablaze amid a surge of violence targeting Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Ananda, known for his extensive collection of over 3,000 musical instruments, managed to flee with his family before the mob arrived. The incident occurred shortly after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to India, escalating anti-Hindu sentiments and attacks across the country. Protesters not only vandalized Ananda's 140-year-old home, which previously hosted French President Emmanuel Macron, but also stole numerous valuables and destroyed irreplaceable musical instruments. Members of Ananda's musical band, Joler Gaan, expressed their heartbreak over the loss, emphasizing the cultural significance of the residence.
