ForSight Robotics Secures $125M Series B to Expand Robotic Eye Surgery
ForSight Robotics, an Israeli company pioneering ophthalmic robotic surgery, has secured $125 million in a Series B funding round led by Eclipse, bringing its total funding to $195 million. The investment will accelerate the development and commercialization of the ORYOM™ Platform, the world’s first robotic surgery system designed for cataract and other eye diseases, which leverages AI, advanced computer vision, and micromechanics to improve surgical precision and ergonomics. With over one billion people globally suffering from preventable vision impairment and a declining ophthalmologist workforce, ForSight aims to expand access to high-quality eye care and reduce the physical burden on surgeons. The company plans to launch its first-in-human clinical trials this year and use the funds to navigate regulatory pathways, launch U.S. operations, and prepare for market entry. Key investors include Dr. Fred Moll, known as the "father of surgical robotics," the Adani Group, Reiya Ventures, and other strategic and existing investors. Despite geopolitical challenges affecting its team, ForSight views ophthalmology as the next frontier in surgical robotics, comparable in market size and urgency to general surgery before the rise of Intuitive Surgical.
