Gophers Women Sweep Top-Ranked Minnesota Duluth in Road Series
The Minnesota Gophers men's hockey team was swept at home by Minnesota Duluth, falling to a 2-5-1 record after a 4-1 loss where Max Plante scored twice. Meanwhile, the Gophers women's hockey team completed a sweep of Minnesota Duluth with a 3-2 victory, extending their unbeaten streak against the Bulldogs to 15 games. Senior forward Abbey Murphy scored twice, including the game-winning goal, and surpassed a major scoring milestone, becoming the second all-time leading goal scorer for Minnesota. Minnesota Duluth's goaltender Eve Gascon returned from a shoulder injury to make 28 saves but could not prevent the loss. The women's games were tightly contested with strong performances from both teams, including critical goals by Caitlin Kraemer and Josie St. Martin of Duluth. The men's basketball team also posted a strong exhibition win over North Dakota, led by Cade Tyson's 26 points and a well-distributed team effort.
