Montreal Man Charged in Daughter's Murder in NY

Luciano Frattolin, a Montreal resident, has been charged with second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse after his 9-year-old daughter, Melina, was found dead in a pond in Ticonderoga, New York. Frattolin initially claimed Melina was abducted by men in a white van, prompting an Amber Alert, but authorities found no evidence supporting this story. Surveillance footage showed Melina with her father and in contact with her mother just hours before the alleged abduction, appearing healthy and not under duress. Investigators now believe Frattolin killed Melina sometime after their last call and before he reported her missing. Both were visiting the U.S. from Canada, and the motive is still under investigation. Frattolin reportedly has no prior history of violence.
