Body of Missing Hiker Found in Dolomites Crevice

Aziz Ziriat, a 36-year-old British hiker missing since New Year's Day, was found dead in a rocky crevice in the Italian Dolomites by mountain rescue teams months after his disappearance. Ziriat and his friend Samuel Harris, 35, both experienced hikers from London, went missing on January 1 while planning to climb a 3,000-meter peak. Harris's body was recovered on January 8, buried under deep snow near the Care Alto peak, with Ziriat's belongings found close by. Search efforts for Ziriat were hampered by harsh weather and heavy snow, and a major rescue operation was launched when the pair missed their return flight on January 6.
