Matthew Rhys Stars in Apple TV+ 'Widow's Bay'

Matthew Rhys is set to star in and executive produce a new Apple TV+ series titled Widow's Bay, created by Katie Dippold and directed by Hiro Murai. The series, set on a mysterious New England island, follows Rhys as a skeptical mayor dealing with superstitious citizens who believe the island is cursed. Widow's Bay will consist of 10 episodes, with Apple Studios producing and a strong team of executive producers including Dippold, Murai, Claudia Shin, Carver Karaszewski, and Joanne Toll. This project is part of Rhys' diverse portfolio, which includes roles in the Netflix thriller The Beast in Me, the BBC's Towards Zero, and the Amazon series Silent River. Rhys is known for his previous work on The Americans and Perry Mason, and his recent portrayal of George Carlin in Saturday Night. The series was officially ordered by Apple TV+ in September 2024, further expanding its roster of high-profile talent.
