Sail250 Plans 60 Ships, 3M Visitors Across 11 Virginia Cities

Norfolk, Virginia, is preparing to host Sail250, a major international maritime celebration scheduled for June 2026 to mark the United States' 250th anniversary. The event will feature over 60 tall ships from 20 countries, bringing more than 10,000 crew members and attracting an estimated 3 million visitors across 11 cities in Virginia, including Norfolk, with economic impacts potentially exceeding $150 million. Sail250 will run for 10 days, with a 26-nautical-mile parade of sail in Norfolk as a highlight, coinciding with Juneteenth celebrations.
