North Miami family escapes house fire safely

A family in North Miami narrowly escaped a devastating house fire early Thursday morning, thanks to the quick actions of the homeowner, Jose Patalano, and his daughters who alerted him to the flames. Patalano attempted to extinguish the fire with a garden hose before evacuating his wife, two children, and dogs. He managed to break down a door to rescue one of his dogs that was trapped inside, despite being overwhelmed by smoke. Fortunately, all family members and pets are safe, although the home was significantly damaged. Firefighters from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded with six units, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Patalano expressed gratitude for his family's safety despite the loss of their home.
