Fiery Crash in Pompano Beach Kills Teen, Injures Five

A 16-year-old boy driving a 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 was killed and five others—four 17-year-old passengers and one adult—were hospitalized after a fiery, multi-vehicle rollover crash in Pompano Beach just before 8 p.m. Friday. The incident began when the Mercedes collided with an 82-year-old man's Toyota Sienna as it turned left onto West Copans Road, causing the Mercedes to overturn and slide into eastbound traffic, where it struck a Lexus RX 350. Debris from the crash also hit a Toyota RAV4. All four teen passengers in the Mercedes and the occupants of the Lexus were hospitalized; their conditions are unknown. The drivers of the Sienna and RAV4 were unharmed and cooperated with authorities at the scene. Investigators suspect excessive speed was a factor, and the investigation remains ongoing.
