Lucid Air Adds Android Auto Support Across North America, Europe

Lucid Motors has officially launched Android Auto support for all Lucid Air vehicles through an over-the-air update to Lucid OS 2.7.0, allowing drivers to access Google Maps, media, and messaging apps via the 34-inch Glass Cockpit display. This update finally brings Android users parity with Apple CarPlay, which has been available since 2023, and supports both wired and wireless connectivity for phones running Android 9.0 or newer. The rollout, delayed from an initial planned release in fall 2024, is available now to owners in North America and Europe, with Android Auto support for the upcoming Lucid Gravity SUV expected by September 2025 following Google certification. Lucid emphasizes this feature as a response to customer demand, aiming to enhance comfort and convenience without compromise. The company continues to expand its presence in European markets and is developing a mid-size EV platform with new models scheduled for release starting late next year. Lucid assembles its vehicles in Arizona and markets itself as a technology leader in advanced electric vehicles.
