Massive Attack Headlines LIDO Festival, First London Show in Nine Years

Massive Attack will headline the inaugural LIDO Festival in London on June 6, marking their first festival appearance in the capital in nine years. In collaboration with clean energy provider Ecotricity, their performance will be entirely powered by battery, significantly reducing carbon emissions and local air pollution. This initiative continues their pioneering work with ACT 1.5, aimed at decarbonizing live music events, following successful climate action shows in Bristol and Liverpool last year. The festival will also feature performances from artists such as Air, Yasiin Bey, and Tirzah. Band member Robert Del Naja emphasized the importance of combining art and science to tackle environmental challenges, noting that clean productions benefit both music fans and local communities. Tickets for the festival will go on sale on February 21.
