Lasith Embuldeniya has been named in Sri Lanka's squad for the upcoming two-Test series in South Africa, marking his return to Test cricket after more than two years. The 17-member squad, led by Dhananjaya de Silva, features nine batters, three specialist spinners, and five pace bowlers. Embuldeniya last played a Test in June 2022 against Australia and had previously performed well in South Africa in 2019. Alongside him, opening batter Oshada Fernando returns to the squad after nearly a year away, while offspinner Ramesh Mendis has been omitted. The first Test will commence in Durban on November 27, followed by the second in Port Elizabeth on December 5. The squad also includes fast bowlers such as Kasun Rajitha and Prabath Jayasuriya, who recently had a standout series against New Zealand.
