Rapper Convicted for Menacing Video Targeting Robinson

Omar Abdirizak, a Birmingham rapper known as Twista Cheese, has been convicted for posting a 'menacing' video on social media aimed at former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson. The video, which received over two million views, included references to guns and artillery, leading the court to determine it crossed the line from free speech into criminality. Abdirizak, who denied making direct threats, argued that the video was intended as entertainment and a means to promote his music. Prosecutor Tim Talbot-Webb emphasized that the context of the video was significant, given its timing during last summer's riots. Abdirizak's defense claimed that mentions of artillery were meant to encourage viewers to watch a specific music video from Somalia. Ultimately, he was found guilty under the Communications Act 2003 after a two-hour trial.
