Skich Launches Alternative iOS App Store in EU

Skich, a new third-party app store tailored for mobile gamers in the European Union, has launched in response to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA), which relaxes Apple’s App Store restrictions. Although Skich offers a wide array of 240 gaming genres and a competitive developer fee of 15%, it currently lacks available games, with content expected to roll out in March. CEO Sergey Budkovski expressed optimism about attracting developers, having already received interest from around 20, while emphasizing a Tinder-like recommendation system to enhance game discovery. This launch positions Skich among a select group of alternative app stores, such as AltStore Pal and Aptoide, that are leveraging the new regulatory landscape. Industry observers are keen to see how Skich's unique features will perform once it builds its game library.
